George Myers and his wife are in Newark hospital with serious burns after an overheated coal stove ignited and destroyed their home. They were dressing on the second floor when flames raced up the stairs. Myers rescued his wife from the blaze and both are expected to recover despite burns to the head and body.

The federal circuit court of appeals affirmed the Columbus district court dismissal of the U S government suit seeking 5 million dollars from A Bent ley & Sons Co of Toledo. The case concerned alleged overpayments for the Camp Sherman army camp construction in Chillicothe Ohio.

Mrs. Pete Aloisio of 1116 West NW reported to Massillon police that between Thursday afternoon and evening a rear-door entry at her home yielded six $25 Liberty Bonds and a ten dollar bill belonging to Miss Helen Pollock who rooms there. No other valuables were taken and police continue to investigate.
Cincinnati January 7 coroner s inquest into the murder of Mrs Sherley Cardon 42 while riding with Peter Brown 48 Hilliore contractor and father of six children was to be conducted today.
A brown silk scarf with blood spore, identified as Mrs Gladya Walter Houck of the Houck family, was recovered from the Potomac River by George Bashford near Glesboro Point. Mrs Houck has been missing since December 15. Dr Knute Houck, presumed insane, was later found in Hornell, New York and is under observation at Walter Reed Hospital.
January 7 1947 Cincinnati officials consider releasing Peter Crown 48 a contractor and escort for Mrs Shelley Glardon 42 who were in a car when she was shot during a confrontation. Coroner F C Wing announced Brown held for further investigation into the fatal shooting and possible bandit involvement. In San Antonio Texas two aviators died near Medina Lake when an ordered field ambulance plane failed.
President Coolidge nominates Thomas J Sparkess for a federal post, listing 403 Avuson Kentucky as his address. The brief notice confirms the nomination date as January in Washington.
