Overheated coal stove explodes in Newark home

George Myers and his wife are in Newark hospital with serious burns after an overheated coal stove ignited and destroyed their home. Dog Licenses Due Before Jan 20 1927 Penalty Added

County auditor Mise Ruth Kauffman announced that 1927 dog licenses must be purchased by January 20 or a one dollar penalty applies. Liberty Bonds Stolen in Massillon Home Break In

Mrs. Pete Aloisio of 1116 West NW reported to Massillon police that between Thursday afternoon and evening a rear-door entry at her home yielded six $25 Liberty Bonds and a ten dollar bill belonging to Miss Helen Pollock who rooms there. Scarf Believed Linked to Missing Mrs Houck Found in River

A brown silk scarf with blood spore, identified as Mrs Gladya Walter Houck of the Houck family, was recovered from the Potomac River by George Bashford near Glesboro Point. Mrs Houck has been missing since December 15. Dr Knute Houck, presumed insane, was later found in Hornell, New York and is under observation at Walter Reed Hospital.
