New York, Jan 6 Directors of the Federal Mining and Smelting Co. declared a special dividend of 1/2 share on common stock and authorized three monthly payments of the accumulated dividend of 19.25 a share on the preferred stock. All payments are made from prior earnings before Jan 1.
A deadly blaze in Worcester today killed two occupants and left nine others injured or missing after rescuers battled the flames. Among the dead were Mrs. Adeline Poudrette Moran’s aunt and Moran’s mother Naida Martin. their bodies were recovered at Worcester Hospital after the rescue effort.
