Rioting marked the second day of Seattle teamsters' strike with a nonunion transfer driver hospitalized from a brain concussion after being stoned. Several shots fired between strikebreakers and nonunion men amid numerous fights. police patrols doubled in the traffic district.
Albert Luck told a judge he is an unlucky man and filed for divorce. He asserted there are no small children at home. The petition was taken under advisement.
Miss Anna Sheridan, eighteen, braved five feet of snow on the 36 mile route from Collins, Colorado, to reach the county examinations. She skiied 10 miles then rode horseback 29 miles, arriving ten minutes before testing and answering questions at the high school.
In Indianapolis, Fred Parrott a waiter after finding his wife with another man attacked her then was shot in the abdomen by Gladys Parrott. Parrott likely to die.

In Chicago on December 26 a little girl named Mary Stewart died an hour before Santa Claus arrived. She had written to Banta asking for one more Christmas. An assistant postmaster handed her letter to a woman who came to deliver gifts, but Mary was already dead.

In Columbus on December 20 Emma Marsh thirty seven faced police inquiry after being charged with shoplifting. Bertillon experts identified her as a famed shoplifter known to operate in major cities.
Isaac Hartmann a 38 year old horse dealer from Uniontown narrowly escaped death when his horse and buggy were struck by a south bound Canton Akron interurban near Oakwood stop just north of Canton. The horse died and the buggy was demolished. Hartmann suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. His wife and two children were not located.
In Urbana Mechansville near here Rev. Charles Stroup was granted legal separation from wife Minnie after testimony about a diaphanous skirt and paint. The Methodist church sexton said Mrs Stroup wore tight sun ray dresses and was antagonistic to the church. Stroup said his wife threatened him with a rolling pin and vowed to “make a sport out of you yet.”
Prosecutor Pontius plans blanket legal action to force the N. O. T. interurban to meet all Canton Akron franchise conditions. He cites unpaid rentals of about $1,000 for county road use and demands lower rails and straightened tracks between here and New Berlin to prevent accidents. If conditions are not met, he may seek cancellation of the franchise or recovery of due rentals.
Representative Lewis introduced a House resolution backing a government monopoly plan for telephone and telegraph services under postal direction. The measure would transfer title of the national network to the government by January 1 1915, license existing firms, and fund awards with treasury bonds.
