First American women reach the Rhine in duty

The first group of 72 American women attached to evacuation hospitals two and nine arrived near Coblenz, drawing cheers from crossing soldiers as some walked to the river. The party includes nine from the Presbyterian unit in Chicago, plus members from New York, Cleveland, Kansas City and other midwestern cities. Ten wounded Americans released from German hospitals also arrived on the east bank and were welcomed by doughboys.
