American troops encamped along the Rhine as divisions push toward the east bank awaiting orders. The 32nd 1st and 3rd Lions moved into position while bands played Over There. Stolzenfels Castle guards and numerous river valley towns are held by U S forces as movement continues toward Coblenz and Nancy.
A Belgian nurse wounded while retreating with Allied forces plans to testify about atrocities she witnessed by German forces. She describes the horrors she saw and the acts committed by Hans during the occupation.
Miss Marie Van Gastel, Belgian Red Cross nurse and war survivor, recounts German troops tearing bandages from wounded Belgians and other horrors she witnessed. She arrives in the United States to headline a Saturday Auditorium mass meeting launching the Christmas Roll Call for the Red Cross. Lieut. Henri DeCoux joins to discuss his Croix de Guerre bravery and his encounters with the Germans.
President Wilson lands at Brest aboard the George Washington at 2 22 PM amid cheering crowds and a 21 gun salute. Mrs Wilson leads with a flag as dignitaries including Colonel House General Bliss General Pershing Admiral Benson Admiral Wilson and Margaret Wilson greet them.
London dispatch reports Belgium King Albert and Queen Elizabeth may visit the United States next year to express gratitude for American aid. Ohio State Grangers press for tax reform and land restoration, ratification of federal prohibition, woman’s suffrage, demobilization, parcel post, prison labor use on roads, eight hour day for farmers, pure seed laws, labeling of butter and milk substitutes, mining-damaged land restoration, phone litigation inquiry, Saturday county office hours, and farmer education funds. They seek agricultural rights consideration at peace talks, crop condition information, and increased farmer participation in rising food production.
The Ohio State Grange at its forty sixth annual convention endorses retaining the one percent tax restriction for officials while allowing taxing districts to raise rates by majority vote. If enacted, the existing one and a half percent limit could be abolished, easing burdens on cities and schools amid a stormy debate.

Washington reports that three hundred former Russian officers were executed by Bolsheviks at Vologda on charges of plotting against the Soviet government. The State Department conveyed the information as of December 13. Also noted is a London dispatch urging Allied occupation of Petrograd Kronstadt and Moscow.
The Knights of Lily Lodge 862 and Kinig Pythias plan to vote next Tuesday evening on amending by laws to raise dues. Attendance is urged for all members. Also advertised are gloves at Arthur's Leather Shop 204 Market av N.Ad.y featuring warm lined styles and good value.

President Wilson replies to Brest greeting by Mayor Good stating it is delightful to join counsel with public men to seek a peace settlement aligned with French and American ideals. He praises Brest for its hospitality and ties to the United States amid the war effort.
