Canton faces possible total paralysis across all lines if embargoes by railroads enter the city and the Wheeling and Lake Erie railroad warns of closure Monday to avert a strike. City factories say they can run only two weeks without wheat, and ten thousand workers could be idle within two weeks with longer shutdowns.
A walkout of 380 workers at Stark Rolling Mills in the northeastern plant section shut all 18 mills late Wednesday. No wage increase was asked. closure stems from promotions not carried out for long service applicants. A meeting with officials and a representation of mill hands led to a plan to reinstate, but three discharged roughers were not restored. Canton carnage looms as other manufacturers announce plant closings and rail embargoes threaten meat and produce supplies.

Canton Massillon Massillon tragedy report states J W Jones department superintendent of the Canton Electric Co faces a manslaughter charge after his car crashed into Thomas Ellis of Warwick Ohio killing him. Jones bonded for 2000 dollars and to have a hearing Wednesday. Two girls aged 18 were riding with Jones and summoned for inquest.
The report lists individuals Miss Mariel Edwards Mrs Frances Miller and Mrs H H Herbruck as injured in a motor vehicle crash with conditions not specified. The incident prompted hospital assessments and local officials to investigate the scene.
Four women riding on Waynesburg road at Oyster Hill near Waco plunged over a ten foot embankment. Driver Mrs. H H Herbruck suffered scalp wounds and injuries while Miss Gladys Miller suffered a fractured skull and may not recover. Other occupants Miss Mabel Edwards and Mrs Frances Miller sustained back and head injuries and body bruises. The car’s loss of control is blamed. witnesses called for help to Canton and Mercy hospital.

He conferred with Senate and House leaders as Pomerene predicted no strike, and administration leaders planned to attach the bill to the Adamson measure with an eye to expediting passage.
