Canton Faces Paralysis If Rail Strike Widens

Canton faces possible total paralysis across all lines if embargoes by railroads enter the city and the Wheeling and Lake Erie railroad warns of closure Monday to avert a strike. City factories say they can run only two weeks without wheat, and ten thousand workers could be idle within two weeks with longer shutdowns.

A walkout of 380 workers at Stark Rolling Mills in the northeastern plant section shut all 18 mills late Wednesday. Desperate thief robs Wise and Rohrer for beans

A night prowler broke into the Wise and Rohrer grocery at 1734 Navarrerd SW. He entered through a rear window, sat at a counter, and ate a meal of beans with candy and cigars. Police noted only a can of beans, some candy, and a few cigars missing. traces of the intruder remained.

Canton Massillon Massillon tragedy report states J W Jones department superintendent of the Canton Electric Co faces a manslaughter charge after his car crashed into Thomas Ellis of Warwick Ohio killing him.
