Canton Men on Firing Line One Year After Departure

Canton draft boards reported 180 potential soldiers added to their lists as of 9 p m Saturday. The north board listed 93 and the south 87 men, slightly under the 200 estimate, with Jewish youths absent due to a religious holiday. Hebrews of draft age will register Monday following national practice. The registration also combined filing questionnaires and examination dates.

Americans Restore All Positions in Bois-Du-Diable Counter Attack

United Press reports from France that on August 24 American forces renewed the Bois-Du-Diable positions, cleared the area of Germans, and took additional prisoners. A fire from bombardment and patrol clashes were noted as the line held with heavy rear guard action in case of withdrawal. French progress between the Ailette and Aisne is also noted with 100 prisoners taken south of Coucy-Le-Chateau and American forces reaching the Soissons Rheims road near Fismes.
