Police chief John H Wise reports success of a ten day campaign against negligent drivers. City council considers new state law penalties for intoxicated driving and a revised local fine schedule with stricter offenses and parking rules to improve road safety.
Lieut. Edwin M. Ronney of the Buffalo municipal airport reports a plane was stolen from its hangar. Discovered at the field and believed possibly by an attaché for practice, investigators found airport personnel had not seen the aircraft since yesterday.

Col. Charles A. Lindbergh arrived at Cudahy Airport Milwaukee at 2 10 p m following a smooth flight from Moene. The famous aviator touched down without incident and proceeded to greetings from locals.

Delaware Aug. 20 One of the largest church conferences in the state is banned for the week of Sept. 6 as the Ohio Northeastern Ohio and West Ohio conferences of the Methodist church plan joint sessions. The three conferences will combine educational and inspirational programs to address church policy. It will be the first time all three conferences meet together with an expected attendance of at least 10 000 delegates.
A general alarm blaze at a hotel in Buffalo New York Aug 20 sent 64 firefighters to struggle with flames. A four unit restaurant in the same building was evacuated and guests fled to the street as smoke and heat drove people out.

Akion August 20. W. Lafon age 25 died at City hospital from injuries suffered at the Cleveland Akron Speedway. He lost control at 45 mph while racing in a heat and struck another car, the car overturned three times. He sustained internal injuries and pelvic and jaw fractures.
