Willam F. Clank of 1400 Market Avenue loaded a shotgun at a Congress Lake cottage. The weapon discharged injuring 12 year old James Clark in the left foot. The boy was taken to Aultman Hospital annex for treatment. The incident occurred after he spotted a rat and the gun was being reloaded when the shell caught while closing the breach.
Columbus Aug 12 Gov Don Ahey reappointed L A Boulay as director of the state highways department. Boulay's term had expired yesterday and the new appointment runs for one year.
London Aug 12 Lieut H W Jones flying an Armstrong Whitworth plane from scratch arrived at Lee On Solent at 10 06 pm as apparent winner of a 950 mile speed race with ten planes. Jones's unofficial time was 7 hours 36 minutes.
