Walter S. Raft former service director blames Turnbull regime for flat rate bias and says his July 1 plan to switch manufacturers to meter rates was sabotaged by stretched favoritism. Madison Robbery Suspects Held On $500 Bond

John Sandrosky and wife An die were held up near their Madison residence by three men on Saturday. Mrs. Sandrosky bruised, she swore affidavits naming Simon Rafosky Tony Rafosky and John Stick as the robbers. The suspects are in custody awaiting trial on $500 bonds each.

Canton Man Robbed Then Foils Pickpocket Scheme

Clyde H Cable of Canton was robbed of 30 dollars in Buffalo and helped detectives arrest Sylvia Hennessy a known pickpocket. He later joined Ralph Hicks and Samuel Hart in a questionable race tip scam at the Hotel Iroquois, but Brooks vanished and Hart and Hicks divided the spoils when Cable returned.

J P Ross Killed in Michigan Auto Crash

James P. Ross a Cleveland consulting engineer for Northern Ohio Traction Co. and well known in Canton died in a Sunday evening crash near Wyandotte Michigan. Two other party members were killed and two injured as the auto, driven at high speed after a misdirection, left the road and plunged into a ditch.

County to study juvenile detention options

Probate Judge Krichbaum and Stark county commissioners decide to study modern juvenile detention homes in Columbus Springfield and Cleveland. He plans a Columbus trip to report findings and guide plans to avoid housing youths in the county jail. Proposed actions include renting a house or remodeling facilities and awaiting the next board’s actions.

Judge refuses guilty plea in non support case

Frank Bachtel requested to plead guilty to non support but Judge Day rejected the plea and appointed Abram W. Agler to defend him. Agler, a former clerk of courts, will prepare for trial later this month. Bachtel had been indicted for failing to support a minor child and was jailed after release from the workhouse.

Massillon Man Dies by His Own Hand at Akron Home

William Sheffler a long time Massillon resident shot himself at his Akron home around 10 o clock this morning. He had been staying at his son's North Mill Street barn with a stolen belt drive from Coxey Silica Sand Co. Police had sought him after a theft report and learned of the suicide from Akron authorities shortly after.

Sewage Break Floods West Creek. Repairs Planned

Warnings issued to residents along West Creek after a main sanitary sewer broke Sunday near the Navarrerd SW bridge. A damaged joint released sewage into the creek. a repair gang was sent and work should finish by Tuesday. Do not bathe or draw water from the creek in the meantime.

County commissioners received petitions for two new roads on Monday. One would run between Tremont Street and Wooster Avenue near Massillon, and the other would create a short cut near Harmon. Viewers of the proposed roads were appointed.

Italian section man faces gun charge in Navarre

Sam Rose of Navarre was arrested by Marshal Winkert and jailed on a pointing firearms charge filed by Mrs. Mamie Reigle of Canton in Justice Correll's court. She says Rose approached her family Saturday night and pointed a gun, threatening to shoot.
