Cincinnati August 9 A body found in the Ohio River Sunday was identified as Fred Bollinger a 63 year old cabinetmaker. John H Porter Jr identified the body and noted four missing fingers confirming the identification. Coroner Swing ruled death by own action due to despondency. Another unidentified body was recovered a month in the river.
Cincinnati reports three new infantile paralysis cases to the board of health, bringing the two week total to nineteen.

Canton city council authorized an ordinance Monday night to advertise and receive bids for 35 000 worth of street signs and to draw a 35 000 warrant to pay for them. Voters approved a bond issue last November, and engineers reported readiness. Several companies donated sample signs and will bid with the board of control. work will start once the contract is awarded.

Joseph Russell known as the "amoked glass bandit" will face trial August 18 on a robbery charge after the third indictment was returned. He pleaded not guilty before Judge Frederick P. Walther. David Atkins, condemned to the electric chair, may gain clemency after a Tuesday hearing before the Ohio Board of Clemency in Governor Donahey’s office. Gov Donahey ordered the review after courts declined to overturn the conviction and the US Supreme Court refused intervention. Over 15,000 petitions urged clemency as Colored organizations and groups including the W C T U campaigned for him. Prosecutor Harter noted few Canton residents attending.

If successful, the crossing aircraft will carry the mail. Dessau post office reports most letters target the President or Mrs Coolidge.
Coroner F C Swing exonerated Patrolmen John Buggana and William Brasher for shooting and killing James Elliott at his home. Swing said they were justified, stating you beat him to the trigger. Testimony indicated Elliott prepared to resist police search.
Grace Hawkins aged 26 died after slipping at the wharf and drowning in Crystal Lake park east of Bucyrus. She was returning to shore with a boat full of children when she fell beyond her depth.

Escaping gas from the cooling system ignited. rescue attempts failed as masks proved ineffective.
