In Neon, Kentucky, Sunday afternoon a feud flare amid Saturday's primary results led to a deadly street exchange between Sam J. Wright a Neon resident Alvin Bentley. Both men died after shooting multiple times. Wright a longtime local figure 70. Bentley 40 leaves a widow and three children. Further trouble rumored as families arm.
The Onto Elks association will hold its 23rd annual reunion in Sandusky and Cedar Point from August 29 to September 2. Officials announced boat rides dancing parades and other entertainments with the Sandusky lodge in charge.

Oliver Garber, 50, died by self inflicted gunshot in a farm house raid near Bellville as four men tried to arrest him on charges of breaking in and stealing clothing and articles, including a gun. Coroner L. E. Barre reports Garber wore stolen clothing from the raid.

Philip C. Calder aged 48 married and a tender of Dam number 17 drowned Monday morning at the dam above Mariesta after falling from a derrick boat while working. His body has not been recovered. The Japanese mercantile marine now ranks third among the commercial fleets of the world.

Francis O'Sheaghneney, calling himself traveling, fought a Canton police squad after a Hoboes hold up. A wild gunfight followed with about 20 shots. O'Sheaghneney was captured on a small bridge after a chase through yards and fences. His companion escaped.

The disaster off Humboldt County claims many lives led by Captain Harry Hobbey who ordered the final evacuation and went down with the Alaska. Stewardess Grace Campbell guided women and children to boats, while Captain Snoddy of the Anyox played a key rescue role.
Two alliances residents, George Zeppos and Harry Lives, filed separate suits in common pleas court seeking 10 000 damages each against the Northern Ohio Traction and Light Co. They claim they were unjustly removed from a Massillon to Canton car after being asked for eight cents extra. Police detained them briefly before releasing them.
