Eton Woman Killed as Tank Explodes at Michigan Summer Home
A gasoline stove tank exploded at the summer home of Mr. Y Cartwright near Petosky Michigan burning Mrs James Lord and injuring Mrs Augustus Dannemiller and Miss Dannemiller. Mr Cartwright was uninjured. Mrs Lord received burns to her back and was hospitalized in Petosky in serious condition. Other relatives were at the scene and one man’s condition was listed as serious.

Yardman killed falling from shifting train at Stark siding
Herbert Abel thirty eight yardmaster for the Pennsylvania Co. at Stark siding was killed instantly Friday at 10:30 am while riding on a car of a shifting train. The car stopped suddenly throwing him to the ground and the wheels passed over his head crushing it. Abel of Massillon had served 19 years with the company and was survived by his wife, parents, and a brother. Funeral arrangements pending. No blame assigned. He died at the yards near Stark siding.
