Berlin reports early today Germany accepts Premier Ramsay MacDonald's invitation to London to discuss reparations under the Dawes program. Chancellor Marx will head the delegation as the allied conference appears set to move forward with France and the United States in agreement on guarantees and Ruhr evacuation terms.
In a statement from his sick room Senator James A. Reed denounces state officials who opposed the war department defense program. He calls them political pacifists and names Nebraska Governor Bryan, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, among early opponents of the defense plan.
Cleveland August 2 An investigation will be launched by County Prosecutor Edward C. Stanton into the recent rapid transit wreck in which a Shaker Heights express train struck a stalled car on the line. The incident injured about a score of people, with most treated at hospitals and sent home after first aid. The probe also will cover a similar wreck on the same line several weeks earlier.
The Iroquois Hotel Co announces plans for a 12 story, 1 million dollar hotel in Columbus. The building would rise on High Street just north of the Hittenden and occupy part of the Lyceum site. It aims to serve traveling men with commercial rates and would be located near the theater area.
Cleveland Aug 2 A hat described by police as the only clue to identify a woman believed drowned in the Cuyahoga river was owned by Mrs Harold Leake who appeared and claimed the hat She said it blew off Friday night as she returned from rain and thanked others as guards had dragged the river all day to search for the body.
Marion Ohio observed a five minute memorial at 7 PM for Warren G. Harding on the anniversary of his death. Church bells tolled as the town paused traffic halted and citizens stood in silence. Florence Kling Harding the widow and Dr George T Harding visited the tomb.

Detroit story reports Mrs. Julian Siman saving her infant by throwing it aside as an automobile struck. The six month old child died on the pavement while Mrs. Siman and a second child, age five, were only slightly injured. Charles E. Ellis drove the car.
