Tornadoes and cyclones sweep the Southwest causing deaths and destruction. Cisco and Rowena report fatalities and dozens of homes and a depot demolished. Lawton and Oklahoma City areas suffer knocked structures and injuries as communications fail.
A miniature cyclone swept through Albany Ohio causing widespread damage last night. Dozens of homes and barns were unroofed orchards leveled and telephone poles toppled. The Baptist church was nearly demolished as the storm stretched across the countryside.
Jefferson City Missouri reports five days of nearly nonstop rain causing washouts on Missouri Pacific Missouri Kansas and Texas lines, cutting direct rail access to the state capital. The Wabash Chicago and Alton remains the sole line available across the Missouri River, reachable by trolley.
George Stearn, 27, confessed to stealing $25,000 by tailing the postal carrier and collecting letters in fashionable districts. Police say the arrest ends a three month postal inspector hunt. Stearn said he started the scheme in Detroit.
In a fit of madness Emile Baysang murdered his wife and seven children all under eleven in Strasbourg. He fled toward the Swiss frontier after the killings.
The forecast calls for unsettled weather in Ohio with likely showers and thunderstorms tonight and Sunday, remaining mild overall. Weather data shows temperatures and precipitation figures, and a note of racing and local business ads appears in the surrounding text.

London April 8 J B Gilbert M P gave notice to ask the house of commons to investigate a reported agreement between American and British packers for control of meat imports from Argentina to Great Britain.
Three bandits in a limousine held up a messenger with the Mint Products Company weekly payroll worth $4,000 on the North Main street bridge in Port Chester. They vanished toward Greenwich Connecticut. All members report for temple services at 6:55 p.m. Sunday April 9 with full dress uniform for Divine worship at First M. E. church.
Oklahoma City prepares for a coroner inquiry into Lt Col Paul Ward Beck's death. Jean P Day, a former Supreme Court justice and oil magnate, claims Beck attacked his wife and was killed by accident. Day and his wife will testify along with Beck's air corps colleagues led by his son and nephew.
Police and deputies searched Saturday for two witnesses to the murder of Mike Dobrimich at his home on Woosteray NE. His widow Anna Dobrimich and her 13 year old son Steve were jailed as material witnesses to the liquor party melee. Prosecutor Ruff ordered their locking up so they could testify before the grand jury next week. The panel will consider Peter Sejatovich of Winfieldwy NE, charged with the murder. Sejatovich was moved from county jail to the city jail Friday afternoon and will be arraigned before Criminal Judge Bowman next week.
Four men were held in Boston as suspicious when found attempting to sell bonds stolen from a Catholic church in Aurora Illinois. Officers Towle and Haggerty recovered twenty eight bonds valued at one thousand dollars each.

The Canton Daily News Automobile show ends Saturday night at the Canton Motor Car Company building after a record week with crowds far exceeding expectations. Dealers report strong enthusiasm and many cars have sold. no cars will be removed until Sunday morning. Friday night drew many out of town visitors from Alliance and Massillon.
Detective Patrick Biffle and Detective Martin Pilcher traced a liquor aroma to Arthur Gressel at 1015 Eighth Street NW. They found a 50 gallon still, 18 barrels of malt, and 8 gallons of liquor in the attic. Gressel fined $500 and costs by Judge Bowman.
Lewis J. Jones files in common pleas court against the City of Canton seeking 1100 dollars and a mandatory injunction to require drainage at the end of Fifth Street NW where Meyers Lake car line intersects. He alleges the city graded the street creating a stagnant surface water pond in front of his property.
H Raymond Hamilton, survivor of the March 3 bus wreck in Painesville Ohio, has left Lake County Hospital and returned home to Bath New York with his father. He is nearly recovered while Andrew Adams the bus driver remains hospitalized with improving condition. A civil service exam for street and sewer inspectors will be held April 13 at 2 pm in the police court room.
Officials of the state blue sky department cannot end the practice of stock companies selling all the preferred stock while promoters hold most of the non par common stock with special value. Attorney General Price ruled the law covers par value only, not the 1919 non par value act, and urged legislative review.

Missouri born Judge Charles L Bartlett of Detroit, recently sentenced John Duvall Dodge to five days, was arrested in Pittsburgh for violating traffic laws. He posted a $50 forfeit and faced a Monday hearing, after ordering his chauffeur to speed through the city to test local enforcement.
