Delegates from Kamsack and Pelly arranged the 1914 season games and debated trophy possession from last year before referring the matter to former officers. A Regina butter case under The Adulteration of Foods Act tests compliance for water content. J F Singleton Ottawa Dairy Inspector laid information against a Regina firm after butter from a Brandon creamery contained over 19 percent moisture. The defendant pleaded guilty and paid a $10 fine and costs, highlighting dealer and manufacturer liability for adulterated products.

John Sinnott of Grandview visited town on Monday. D Wedderspoon and Harry Hanks stayed in Yorkton on the lawn in front of the Fire Hall that night. J D Ramsay of Rey A special Home makers Club meeting is set for Friday evening in the club room at 8 o clock to arrange delegates for the convention.

Tomorrow Is Clean Up Day for Canora Proclamation Declares Civic Holiday

Mayor Korbin issues a proclamation declaring tomorrow a civic holiday to allow Canora residents a general clean up of premises. Citizens are urged to reclaim backyards and surroundings, get up early and use tools to beautify and clean the town as a united effort. Old saying cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Districts drawn with home and away matches within each district divisions to reduce travel. Winners of north south east or west divisions meet the other division winners in district games. District schedules due by July 15 with inter district games to follow for the championship tourney.

Town Council Minutes Discuss Market relocation and repairs

The Town Council met last evening with Mayor Korbin presiding and all members present. They read prior minutes and approved confirmations while ordering two markets closed and moved to the west side of the vacant town hall site under Public Works. meanwhile both markets stay open. The Light Committee was authorized to place a cement foundation under the fuel air storage tank and the Works Committee was empowered to proceed with related tasks.

Annual May Tea by the Canora Homemakers Club

The Canora Homemakers' Club held its annual May Tea in the Doukhobor Block on Monday evening. Tables were prettily decorated and dishes served praised as a credit to members who aimed to surpass last year's effort. Attendance was not large but guests enjoyed a splendid repast and the event is eagerly anticipated each year.

The Toronto Ladies' Quartette gave a first class entertainment at the Royal last Saturday before a fairly good audience. Each member proved a first class artiste and the company was the best of its kind to appear in the Royal, though the audience was small.

An adjourned town council meeting on May 16 chaired by Mayor Korbin introduced By Law 102 on frontage assessment procedure and passed it after readings. By Laws 103 104 and 105 were given first readings with referrals to the solicitor for further action.

Churches and Services Schedule for Sunday

The largest district teachers meeting gathered in Canora on Monday and Tuesday with over fifty teachers. Sessions were led by Inspector Merrill and Principal Snell with talks on School Gardening and Nature Study, Primary Reading, and the Art of Questioning.

N Cohen of Verigin visited Canora this week while Rev A S Kennedy B A arrived from Toronto to lead Presbyterian work in Canora district. The Canora Waddell Hospital Aid meets May 27 at 2 30 at Mrs Jensen’s home. The LC S Society hosts a social for the Presbyterian congregation on May 26.
