The Canora High School girls will stage a double bill, Captain Joe and The Revolt, tomorrow at the Theatre Royal. Attempted Hold Up at the Hotel Chamberlain

Morning hold up at the Hotel Chamberlain ended with a struggle as N. P. Barnes resisted an armed man. A shot was fired into a wall and the robber fled via a fire escape before police could capture him. Constable shortage delayed pursuit.

King George Hotel Sold for 60000 in Yorkton Area

Chas Isman of Yorkton and Redvers Sask assumes ownership of the King George Hotel today. John Sinnott dealer in the deal leaves for Grandview Man with his family to start work on a cement store venture by Vance Bros. Sinnott will begin recon of the new enterprise shortly.

Canora Chosen for Saskatchewan Teachers Institute

Saskatchewan hosts multiple Institutes at centres with Canora chosen for May 18 and 19. Provincial Normal School staff and school inspectors lead sessions on primary work arithmetic geography composition history reading literature and more. Public welcome with morning and afternoon sessions and optional evening talks.

Rainbow launches new boat on Assiniboine River

The Rainbow built by J C Rainbow of British American Elevator Co now sits complete for river tests. Named in honor of the Canadian Navy, the craft may inspire a sister ship the Niobe to patrol local waters if needed.

First Open Air Concert by the Band To Night

The Citizens Band will play their first open air concert tonight from the Hotel Canova balcony. The program includes Our Nations Pride, Mandolina, Water Lilies, Col Miners, Merry Maidens, The Siren, and Royal Welcome Home with Hosenkrans and King among the performers.

University of Saskatchewan Starts Home Makers Libraries

The University of Saskatchewan provides permanent libraries of twelve to fifteen volumes for Homemakers' Clubs and introduces travelling libraries of about thirty five volumes for boys girls and adults. Local clubs now about one hundred will receive libraries to keep six months. The program is met with strong enthusiasm and is near circulation readiness.

The whist drive in the dining room of the Hot Canora last Friday proved highly successful and enjoyable. A large number of our residents took part, and about midnight a lunch was served after which the sinners of the event concluded.
