A large and joyful gathering of guests from Canova lodge A F M attended the Grand Assembly at the hotel on Friday night. The event started about 8 30 pm with dancing to Prof Denmark's Kamstock orchestra lasting until 2 30 am. Card tables and buffet refreshments kept guests engaged despite bad weather.
A new foundry is planned to open around June with J P Russell currently engaged in the project. Preparations are complete and the plant will be relocated from the U S to a new site and installed at once.
A plan to adopt brighten up as a town slogan to spread optimism. It aims to lift personal mood, brighten homes and businesses, and promote social, industrial, and commercial progress while encouraging love of nature and sun shine.

Pelly football club restructures for the season with L F Campbell as secretary treasurer. They plan to rejoin the McKensie league and urge an immediate meeting to arrange the season. Canova may lack a baseball team this year and fan turnout has been poor. A league may form with Yorkton Melville and Canora teams. A passenger service from Leateven Winnipeg to Prince Rupert is proposed by the G T P for September.
