Live Stock Buy Ahead for Brandon Fair Car Load Planned

Canora Live Stock Co. Ltd reports it will not travel to Ontario to obtain stock. A full car load of broad sows from Poland China and Yorkshire stock, priced 40 dollars bred, 35 dollars not bred, and 25 to 30 dollars for good grades bred, will arrive in Canora next Thursday. First class pure bred bulls and fancy hogs from Selkirk were also secured. Farmers should be ready to buy at the town office or from President Joseph Coutts or Secretary.

A commission is to be appointed by the government to inquire into the commercial potentials of the Georgian Canal project. Roman Catholic bishops have been selected to mobilize support among 350,900 Galicians migrating toward the Canadian west. Second Annual Bonspiel Commenced Monday

The Canora Curling Club opened its second annual bonspiel Monday evening with twenty six rinks in four open events. Four sheets of ice were used and the event drew visitors from Yorkton Saltcoats Dauphin and Kamsack among others. The Canora Milling Company trophy and Robertson trophy drew the early draws and the town band performed to begin the games. Final rounds expected by tomorrow night with prizes likely to be claimed largely by visiting rinks.
