Beebwith Dies After Escape From Nurses In Pueblo Sanitarium
Elton T. Beckwith, longtime Colorado state senator from Custer County, died in Pueblo after he fled his nurses and fell from a second story window. His daughter Elsie Velma Wilcox returned to Denver but was briefly overwhelmed by news and a court deposition. Beckwith, allied with Wolcott, built a cattle empire at Wet Mountain and left a notable political and ranching legacy across Colorado.

The Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad will run a Canon City to Clyde excursion next Sunday morning departing at 8 o clock.
