Attempted Arson at Ward Residence on Main Street

An attempt to burn the Ward residence and nearby outbuildings at 1212 Main Street occurred Tuesday night. A pile of kindling saturated with coal oil was lit in front of the carpenter shop behind the house. An F and O C shop employee spotted the blaze, extinguishing it before the fire department arrived. Several suspects are being investigated.
