The Fremont and Teller county boards purchased a section of the Canon City and Cripple Creek toll road from Eldred to Fourmile and Wilson creeks for 4000 dollars. The tract will be part of a proposed Cripple Creek to Eldred state road funded by a 10000 dollar legislative appropriation. The deal followed an agreement between Fremont and Teller officials at Cripple Creek last Tuesday.

Mel Long Arrested for Murder of Brother-in-law in Canon City
Mel Long, accused of stabbing his brother-in-law James Good during a family quarrel in South Canon on November 7, was captured in Lafayette Indiana by Tippecanoe County Sheriff. He fled to Texas but was traced via telegraph. Under Sheriff John Chetelat departed for Indiana to return Long to Canon City for district court on murder charges.
