An Elks excursion train bound for Salt Lake City from Emporia Kansas passed through the city last Sunday. The train carried nine or ten coaches with fifty passengers aboard. A brief stop allowed passengers to view the sights of the place.
W P Nelan, a hustling local bakeryman, leaves Sunday for a trip through the east visiting New York Buffalo Philadelphia Boston and Chicago among other places. He will be gone several weeks combining business with pleasure and has built up an excellent trade and many friends during his three years in the city.
A city sewer project halted when workers walked out last Friday over the firing of two men. A committee secured reemployment on a set time and work resumed with calm at the site along the Potomac.
James Pennington recalls Canon City history from over twenty years on Main Street. He notes business decline after the railroad to Silver Club, revival after another railroad, a prior restaurant, and rent changes. Stamp denies a Boulder Chautauqua marriage rumor.
