Canberra Women’s Organisations Highlight Service Role
The Lady Hopetoun Club led early Canberra efforts with YWCA support to aid servicewomen and local families. The YWCA hostel and care programs expanded from 1931 through World War II and into postwar projects offering housing, crafts, sport, and educational activities. A new Quota International club formed in Canberra in 1960 under Mrs Cazna Taylor, raising over £700 for local initiatives.
