Four Die In Rail Crash Near Yass Crossing
A man, his wife, and their two sons were killed when their utility collided with a goods train at Boorawa level crossing six miles from Yass. The victims were Harry Keith Walmsley, Miriam Alice Walmsley, Barry Keith Walmsley, and Murray Bruce Walmsley, all of Silverdale, Yass. Police said the crossing is blind and gates were manually operated. The family were believed returning from Canberra to see the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. All southbound trains were halted for two hours.
