German troops and police shut off routes between East and West Berlin. Border points to East Germany closed, halting thousands of East German refugees from flooding into the western sector. West Berlin now cut off from Soviet-controlled areas as barriers go up around the city.

The Governor General Lord De Lisle and family attended the wedding of Captain Bob ONeill at St Christopher’s Church on Saturday.
