Waco Congressman W R Poage announced from his Waco home that he will not seek re election and will complete his current term He cited opposition to an overdose of socialism and said a new candidate could better push his district forward Lane Denton of Waco and Marvin Leath of Marlin plan to run for the 11th District seat Poage noted 40 years in Congress and a recent colon cancer operation as context for his retirement status.
Cameron library announces Amnesty Week from October 3 to October 8. Anyone with overdue books may return them without fines. Extra hours are on two evenings weekly with open times 10 30 to 5 30 on Monday and Wednesday 10 30 to 7 30 Tuesday and Thursday and 9 to 4 Friday and Saturday.
