The Herald plant will be closed Christmas Day and the following day as in years past. The Daily Herald will publish Thursday and resume Monday. Frank Torno Earns All District Team Honor

Frank Torno, sensational sophomore backfield star of the 1942 Yeomen, was elected to the all conference team by coaches. Six Taylor Ducks made the all conference squad. Torno secured the berth with ample votes, and George Michalka narrowly missed as alternate at end. The Yeomen won only one conference game.

Christmas Eve Dance At USO Hall Here

A Christmas Eve dance will be held at the USO hall for servicemen from Camp Hood and other camps spending Christmas in Cameron. The event starts about 9 p.m. Thursday. About 90 Cameron girls will go to Camp Hood tonight and around 60 will host men here. An estimated 100 men will come to Cameron for the holiday.

Presbyterians Present Impressive Christmas Pageant

A Christmas Pageant under Mrs Mary Green was staged in the First Presbyterian Church auditorium last Sunday evening. A large crowd witnessed what many called one of the most effective Christmas Pageants by the Presbyterians with all church departments represented. A generous free will offering supported the Joy Gift Cause for aged and disabled ministers and widows with little income.
