Cameron to Let Contracts for Highway 36 Reconstruction
Texas Highway Department will let contracts in November for reconstructing Highway 36 from the Santa Fe overpass in Cameron to the 36 and 77 junction. Two people were slightly injured in separate crashes on Monday. Mrs. Albert Michalka of Cameron suffered a elbow cut when her car struck a train at the 5th Street crossing. Samuel J. Crittenden Jr. of Burton was injured when his tractor trailer went off a bridge over a creek five miles north of Ben Arnold. The Texas Fiber Co. trailer blocked Highway 77 and was diverted onto a farm road.
