The Rural Electrification Administration will prepare a draft environmental impact statement under NEPA 1969 for an anticipated loan guarantee to Brazos Electric Cooperative and South Texas Electric Cooperative. The project includes a 400 MW lignite unit in Atascosa and McMullen counties and 254 miles of 345 kV transmission lines with a 400 MVA substation. Comments are invited to the Assistant Administrator Electric in Washington and to the borrowers.
