A sausage and chicken supper will be held in Burlington at St. Michael school building starting 5 p m. The event, under St. Michael's parish, charges 25 cents for adults and 15 cents for children. A variety of foods and refreshments will be served. Community members and Cameron area residents are invited.

L. C. Gayle Leaves Cameron For Waco Church Youth Work

The First Baptist church of Cameron bids farewell to Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Gayle as they relocate to Waco. Mr. Gayle becomes leader of the young people at Seventh & James Street Baptist church. He has directed Cameron youth for over three years and leaves many friends behind.

Cotton Prices Gain Pack Part of Slump

Spot cotton ranged Te to 7 3-4c in Cameron on Thursday morning with middling at 7 1-4c. Poor staple priced higher for farmers than other points as Milam county crop placed under 40 000 bales. Compress warves received 6246 bales while hot dry weather allowed continued harvesting amid past floods easing. Conditions gradually improve and insect peril remains a concern.

Richards 86th Birthday Party Celebrated in Milam County

Mrs. Mary Richards marked her 86th birthday on September 19 and visited daughter Mandy Walden in Belton while son George Richards of Cameron joined in at home. Ten of her 11 children are named, including A. B. Richards, Virg Richards, Mrs. M. W. Price, Mrs. Fannie Collins, and Mrs. Mamie Fuller, with residences spanning Crosby to Belton.

Pettibone Road Project Approved by County Court

County commissioners visited Elm Ridge and reviewed extending a road from Pettibone to Waco Crossing bridge. A jury of view gave a favorable report and the road was ordered opened on the condition residents fence the route while the county provides wire and posts.

The New Majestic Radio has arrived at Green Brothers Store in Cameron and is on display. N. Green offers the all tube set at 89.50 with a station indicator by light signals and tuned reception with minimal interference. The tone is described as markedly improved and Majestic is noted for its famed tone now enhanced.

Little River Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at Jones Prairie on Sunday September 25 at Little River church. All interested are invited to attend and bring a basket for the dinner on the ground. Visitors are welcome to spend the day with association members and enjoy hospitality.

The First Baptist church hosts ongoing services led by Rev. McKinley Norman with T. D. Carroll directing music. Two daily services at 9 30 in the morning and 8 p m at night invite the public to participate and share in the ministry.

Anniversary celebration marks 50 years of Cameron First Presbyterian

At Cameron the First Presbyterian Church observed its 50th anniversary on Sunday September 18 with Judge W G Gillis presenting a history of the church from its founding in 1882. Dr W R Hall led the service and challenged members to address world needs as there was tribute to charter members and a note on the debt free church building.
