Tick Eradication Suspended in Milam County
Milam County Commissioners Court votes to discontinue systematic tick eradication effective October 1 1923 and erect a county vat at Cameron to aid cattle movement. About 80000 will be lost to taxpayers unless stockmen fund ongoing work. The court cites adjoining counties’ inaction and financial strain as reasons but authorizes a county dip facility funded by owners except at the county vat.
