Milam Areans Wagon Train Heads to Valley Forge 1976

A two wagon train started a nine month trek to Valley Forge Pennsylvania at 10 a m Friday parading through Lexington. Organized by train boss Lawrence Watson of Texas Bar Six near Anglewood the trip is part of the nations bicentennial celebration. More wagons will join and the group expects to reach Valley Forge on July 4 1976.

Lions To Host Alcoa Officials Visit

Brazos Queen riverboat cruises to open in Waco area

The Brazos Queen, a two deck paddle wheeler built by John Louck, will sail excursions on the Brazos from Baylor Marina to McLennan Community College Marina. It seats 200, costs $1.50 for adults and 75 cents for children, with four daily trips and stops at historic Brazos sites.

Comptroller Sees High Oil Decontrol Costs for Texas

Texas Comptroller Bob Bullock warned that federal oil price decontrol would burden consumers with about 625 million dollars in higher gasoline costs next year while adding only 170 million dollars in additional state revenue. Postal Rates Changes Told

Postmaster Henry Litzman outlined changes that took effect Sunday September 14 19xx. First class mail remains 10 cents for the first ounce and 9 cents for each additional ounce up to 13 ounces. Post cards drop to 7 cents. Air mail stays 13 cents per ounce. Priority mail rates stay the same for over 13 ounces first class and over 9 ounces air mail.
