Funeral services held for Mrs. S. E. Brady in Cameron

Funeral services for Mrs. S E Brady long a resident of Cameron were held at First Methodist Church with Rev John W Mills conducting. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include three sons five daughters 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A. N. Green elected to the Milam County House of Representatives with 701 votes. He leads J. Ally 383 and Leo Harris 339 among 8 candidates as total turnout reaches about 2,700 in 43 precincts. Green favors social security, road funds, and utility relief, pledging hard work and no broken promises.

Complete returns tabulated by County Judge Kemp by noon Tuesday show A. N. Green winning with 740 votes. J. A. Ely of Gause received 390, Leo Harris 379, Conneil Clement 261, Charlie Smith Jr 253, Frank Slavik 249, Rev P L Caperton 245, L Van Perkins 145, and Jones Prairie box carried by Green with 32 votes.

Eight Indictments Returned by Jury

The grand jury reported eight indictments after sessions from Monday to Wednesday. Simple assault charges were filed against L. L. Gaston N. W. Gaston and Fred Piefer of Gause for Justice court in Thorndale. J. W. Carter faced burglary and chicken theft charges, G. P. Touchstone of Silver City was indicted for chicken theft. Earl Brandenberg, a Black man from near Hoyte, was indicted for burglary.
