ASCS Outlines Rules For 1976 Disaster Claims

Farmers must file within 15 days after crop abandonment or harvest for disaster provisions covering corn grain sorghum and cotton. Claims require evidence of crop and disaster while visible, with unharvested crops checked and appraised before other uses. Contact county ASCS if a crop is destroyed or carried to harvest with low yield and file low yield within 15 days after harvest completion.

Senate Committee OKs Revenue Sharing Bill

Senate Finance Committee approves a revenue sharing bill extending the program through October 1982 with 14 to 0 vote. The measure loosens reporting rules and differs from House language while adding a new discrimination complaint process and local budget publication requirements. The program costs nearly 42 billion dollars and Cameron students observe Labor Day with classes resuming Tuesday.

Trustees Amend Budget for Cameron School

Cameron school trustees, in a called session Tuesday night, voted to amend the 1975-76 budget. Supt Buddy Dulin cited overages of 48143 due to transportation, plant maintenance and operation, and four new buses. He noted two buses arriving next year and a short term loan to bridge to state funds in late September and tax revenue in October.
