Mrs. Janie Rawls, of the First Methodist Church in Cameron Texas, represented her church at the ground breaking for the Wesley Foundation building at the University of Hawaii. In a joint meeting the Killeen and Cameron boards agreed to relocate the Killeen Yoe High football game to Killeen Field. Supt Loughmiller said Cameron shifted its policy on integrated squads for away games this season. The move avoided playing on Yoe High Field and faced community opposition. potential forfeiture near 400 dollars loomed if the game were not played.

Services Held For E. L. Taylor Retired Banker

Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church for E. L. Taylor who died Tuesday morning in a Cameron hospital. The Rev. Richard J. Bradshaw officiated. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Taylor lived in Cameron since 1934 and built a banking career from Sanger Joseph Company in Cameron to roles at Tarver Hensley Company in Rosebud, Planters National Bank in Rosebud, and finally as a director at First National Bank of Rosebud before retiring in 1990 and moving to Dallas. He married Florine Sampson Mayfield in 1944 and later returned to Cameron. He is survived by his wife and step-son Maurice G. Mayfield Austin and three grandchildren Kedith Mayfield, Lee Mayfield, and Kedith Mayfield.

Construction Project Continues At City PO

Exterior work at the Cameron Post Office continues as part of a 34630 renovation. Postmaster John Hays says most working areas and the lobby are finished with new linoleum, lighting, and painting. Additional exterior improvements include new curbing and a flagpole. Hanna Improvement Co of Dallas is the contractor.

Quarterback Club To Host YHS Team

The Cameron Quarterback Club will host an annual football barbecue for Yee High School players and club members Monday night at Ada Henderson Cafeteria. About 45 VHS football players are expected to attend as the dinner begins at 6 30 p.m. The club members saw films of the Stephenville Cameron grid contest Monday night.

Cameron American Legion officials told The Herald no Veterans Day dinner will be held November 11. The post had asked if local schools would observe Veterans Day. A barbecue for members is planned at the Legion Hut in Wilson-Ladbetter Park on Tuesday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m.

North Milam United Fund Drive Opens in Cameron Area

A two week United Fund drive starts tomorrow across Milam County including Cameron and 14 communities north of the Little River. Chairman Bob Nelson aims for 11300 with drives organized by Leon Brady in Buckholts and Drayton McLane assisting.
