Notice announces tax collection in specified locations on set dates and asks taxpayers to be prepared to pay taxes. It also states that every man who turned 21 after January 1 and before December 31, 1917 must obtain a free exemption certificate to vote.
The Mothers Club invited teachers, preachers, trustees, and their wives to a Friday night reception at Mr. and Mrs. Lesovsky's home. Mrs. Roy Jeter led the program with a talk on the club’s aims, plus a musical Edison, guessing contest, and signature exchange. A refreshments course followed including chicken salad and tea. Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy lauded by Mrs. A. G. Kirstein as a trusted cold remedy.
The Priscilla Club gathered Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Dave Wilson’s on Wilt street for a pleasant session of conversation and fancy work. Members included Mesdames Tom Denson Pope Sapp E A McAdams J P David of Dallas and Misses Aetna Smith Mary Lake Winnie Henderson Agnes Ledbetter and Mildred Chambers. A dainty salad course with iced tea followed. Next meeting set for Mrs. Roy Baskin’s home.
