Newton Memorial Hospital to Formally Open in Cameron

The Newton Memorial Hospital in Cameron will be opened to the public on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18 from 2 to 5 PM. Founded to honor Dr. W. R. Newton, Sr., the non profit facility aims to provide extensive medical and surgical services and serves as a modern, patient friendly center with nursery, delivery room, sterilization department, and ultra modern heating and ventilation systems.

Dr Crump Named Head of Milam Robertson Health Unit

Dr T E Crump, a well known Cameron physician, accepts the full time director post of the Milam Robertson Health Unit succeeding Dr Roy G Reed who has joined the army. Crump will resign his Milam county practice to devote himself entirely to the health unit work, noting wartime doctor shortages. He previously held a wartime army medical corps reserve rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
