Tony P. Ermis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ermis of Cameron, arrived in the United States September 21 1945 from the European Theater of Operations. Air Transport Commands Caribbean Division planes flew him to Miami Army Air Field and within 24 hours he headed to Camp Blanding Florida for separation or furlough. He wears the ETO ribbon with five battle stars.

Owen Stidham Returns From Extended Submarine Service
Fireman First Class Owen Stidham United States Navy is back from nearly four years at sea aboard the Submarine Gunner with a record of sinking Japanese ships. He will report to his New Orleans base on October 5 after visiting his parents in Cameron. He volunteered after Pearl Harbor and trained at Great Lakes and Bremerton. Stidham served on the Destroyer Fox from February 1942 and helped combat Japanese forces in the North Pacific and Aleutians, credited with sinking two submarines off Dutch Harbor.

Flood Waters Rise as Little River Crests in Rainfall
Heavy rains swept the watershed with Lampasas reporting seven and a half inches. Little River rose about 14 feet early Saturday and the crest was still to come downstream.
