Chas McGehee Sunday school superintendent leads planning with church leaders backing the event. Musical selections readings and talks will accompany the banquet with Judge William Pierson of Austin delivering the main address.
A new milk products plant or cheese factory is planned to be open by the first of the year. Officers elected include C. W. Lawrence president, R. H. McIntosh vice president, John Ryan secretary, Hayden Lawrence treasurer, and Willard Reese manager. Machinery has been ordered and is expected to arrive in early January.
Citizens National Bank completes a major office refit this week. New large light fixtures brighten the banking room while a passage to the directors room is eliminated to create more work space for handling customers’ business.

Waco Texas November 24 Research by Rev Gabriel Tous of the monastery of St Francis suggests the San Ildefonso Mission site lies about five miles northwest of Gause in Milam County near Little River The three Milam missions opened in 1747 and 1749 by Franciscan padres are noted with Nuestra Senora de los Dolores and Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria Among surrounding reports is a local Gause peak named Loma de San
President Calvin Coolidge proclaims November 20 as a day of general Thanksgiving and Prayer. He praises divine guidance for peace and prosperity, urges the nation to cease work, worship at home or church, and give thanks for blessings and continued favor.
A Milam County arrest reports a man placed one cent pieces inside an oil can used to cook liquor. He believed copper was needed for a still and inserted the coins to supply the metal. The crude method marks the most primitive illicit liquor practice yet noted in the county.
Union Thanksgiving services at the Presbyterian church Wednesday night will be led by P. T. Ramsey of the Methodist church who preaches the annual sermon. It is the yearly custom to hold union services, though the services cannot occur on Thanksgiving Day due to football games.
Johnnie Carlin, disputing Henry Karhunsaari’s claims, is slated to wrestle the Finn in Rockdale Friday night under the American Legion. The bout is billed as one of the year’s most important matches with Carlin claiming European, junior and welterweight championships.
Milam County's 1928 cotton crop may be the third largest in county history with 62,466 bales ginned by November 14, surpassing 1927's 52,872 bales. Grover H. Albert, agent, notes the loss and gain margins as growers expect a strong finish.

L. C. Gayle of Santa Anna, a prospective Educational Director candidate for the Baptist church, led the Cameron church Sunday evening directing the music and singing a solo.
Weather reports early Wednesday morning warned Cameron residents of possible snow and cold rain for tomorrow's big game. Fewer will attend the S M U and T C U game in Fort Worth while many will travel to Austin for the Texas A and M showdown where the conference title hangs in the balance. If Texas loses to A and M the title would pass to Arkansas, and a tie would spark further discussion.
Col. W. B. Woody of Rockdale, veteran of the Southern Confederacy and pioneer, died here Tuesday night at over 80 years old. His body lay at Coleman-Eplen Funeral Home and will be moved to Rockdale Wednesday for funeral arrangements. Woody was a Virginia native and noted Confederate veteran.
Jon Matula scoutmaster announced a Boy Scout program to be held December 7 1928 at the You High School auditorium starting at 7 46 pm. Admission is free with Dan Beard Troop sponsoring. The program features music singing vaudeville readings pantomimes jokes and a short play by the troop to educate the public about Scout activities and aims.
