Service Held For Lloyd Albertson Herald Writer
Lloyd L. Albertson, 76, longtime Herald writer, died Sunday in a Temple hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral 2 PM Tuesday at Green Funeral Home Cameron. burial Oaklawn Cemetery Rockdale. Native of Rockdale, he lived in Cameron 40 years and wrote oil news and features for The Herald. He was a World War II veteran and National Guard member. Survived by sister Elizabeth Waddell Milano, aunt Lara Albertson Milano, nephews Earl Waddell Houston and Don Waddell Wichita Falls, niece Betty McCoy Austin. Pallbearers listed.

Weekend Fire Calls in Cameron Keep Volunteers Busy
Cameron volunteers fought two fires Monday and three over the weekend with some damage but no injuries. Incidents included a loaded trailer of insulation in front of Safeway on Fourth Street, a grassfire west of town on Highway 36, and an electrical wall fire at 1600 Fannin. A pickup fire Saturday and a false alarm Sunday added to the calls. Fire officials urged safety rules for winter use of fireplaces and stoves and listed escape tips for families.

Officials Eye End of Revenue Sharing Funds
City and county officials warn that if revenue sharing funds dry up at the end of June 1976 Cameron and Milam County could lose substantial aid. Mayor Gene Blake doubts funds will continue past the cutoff as larger cities abused funds and the federal government frowns on the program.

Milam County REACT Plans 15th Holiday Rest Stop
Milam County REACT will run a 24 hour holiday rest stop two miles south of Cameron at Highways 36 and 77 from 6 p m Wednesday November 26 to 6 p m Sunday November 30. Members work in six hour shifts to serve travelers during Thanksgiving traffic.

Speaker Names Kubiak to Ed Committee in Texas
Rockdale representative Dan Kubiak was named vice chair of a nine member House panel to study alternative school financing next year. Speaker Bill Clayton appointed Rom Massey of San Angelo as chair, with aim to ease property tax burden on urban and rural residents. The panel will pursue a fair new funding method and report after a year of study.

Blood drive in Cameron faces loss of Red Cross program
Cameron may lose its Red Cross blood program if quotas are not met. The Central Texas Red Cross blood mobile visits Tuesday December 2 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Methodist Fellowship Hall, with a 73 unit goal.
