Miss Mollie Moore Dies in Cameron Hospital

Miss Mollie Moore a longtime Cameron resident and church teacher died at 12 30 pm Friday November 20 1942 in Cameron Hospital after a period of grave illness. Survived by brother George T Moore of Cameron and sister Mrs John Poteet of Dallas with another brother the late Monta J Moore who died in California. Funeral services expected Sunday at the First Methodist Church in Cameron with Green Funeral Home directing.

Four Cameron youths Charles Kreig Bob Alexander Bob Vaughn and Hope Eanes have received navy assignments and will be separated for the first time since leaving Cameron for service. Mrs Julia McLane Dies After Head Burn Infection

Mrs. Julia McLane died early Monday at the family home near Cameron from an infection arising from a head burn in a beauty shop hair machine incident. Her funeral was held at Green Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. John Cole officiating, interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Clyde Moore Jr of Davilla was in town Saturday.

Navy Recruiting Cruiser Arrives Friday for Cameron Visit

A mobile Navy recruiting unit lands in Cameron Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon with veteran officers. Chief McNair leads the crew including Kies of Marblehead and Eady of San Francisco, all sharing long naval careers. Recruiting Cruiser for Navy Heads to Cameron Texas

City will close Thursday with business houses observing Sunday hours through Thanksgiving Day. Many citizens plan to attend the Texas versus A and M game in Austin, leaving the city almost deserted for the day.
