Cameron Jaycees will donate evenings and weekends to repair and repaint toys for needy Cameron children. They request usable toys and cash donations, with collection at Cameron Lumber Company and a possible additional center next week.
Extensive remodeling in the 200 block of S Houston underway. Albert Hajovsky renovates two former buildings to host Western Auto Store and Schigut's Exchange Furniture. Schigut's aims to open before Christmas with Roman brick glass exterior and aluminum awning. Interior includes tile floor dropped acoustic ceiling and strip lighting. Buildings to be air conditioned. Matula Construction Co. leads Western Auto remodeling.
Mrs. Willie Carleton 99 died 7 p.m. Monday in a local hospital. Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mark-Burns Funeral Home officiated by Rev. 30th Wimberly and Rev. Willian B. Waldrop. Burial in Corinth Cemetery. Born July 28, 1876 in Clark County Mississippi she lived 80 years in Ad Hall Community before moving to Cameron. Survived by sons Victor H. Carleton Luther Carleton a half sister Myrtle Lockwell Midland three grandsons five great grandsons. Pallbearers Harold Love R J Woodward Dr Gus Evans Jr Morris Evans Bassel Wilson Roy Hensley.
Milam County growers joined nationwide approval for the cotton marketing quota in Tuesday's referendum. Milam voters cast 422 in favor and 25 against. Early unofficial results showed about 67 percent nationwide support needed for approval, with local peanut growers voting 32 for and 12 against.
Alvin C. Nolte senior vice president of Citizens National Bank died at noon Thursday after a heart attack at his Cameron office. Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Friday at March-Burns Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Freeman officiating. burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Nolte, born January 6, 191?, lived in Cameron 35 years. survived by wife Mrs. Wis M. Nolte and one sister Mrs. W. C. Keith.

Salvation Army launches its annual campaign with a kickoff coffee and donut meet on Tuesday November 50 at 9 30 a m at the Texan Cafe for North Milam County workers. Campaign leaders and captains are named with planned districts Burlington Ben Arnold Maysfield Stanchville Merak Yarrelton.
The Cameron Industrial Foundation plans a February 1965 start for a fundraising drive to support the Cameron community’s industrial development. City planners and the site survey committee outline proposed federal projects including street and sewer improvements and the Cameron housing of the Riverside project.
Services for Jess Barrett a retired farmer from Milam County were held at 2 p.m. at Arch’s Bet Leaee Gan B786k Cemetery. Barrett born March 15 1886 in Milam County died at 9 p.m. prior services listed survivors including Lille Barrett Cameron Susie chairlows Yarrellton Mrs Flake Brooks Kreeper Mrs Keien Moredea Rockdale and others with 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Red Cross drive in Cameron and North Milam County communities raised 2443.56 with Cameron businesses contributing 1722 and local residents 221.06. Co chairs James Camp and Albert Collins reported overwhelming response ensuring continued Red Cross blood program support.
Yoe High principal Harrison McLerran reports Cameron reserve seat tickets for the Yoe High Elsville game in Temple Friday night were sold out by early Wednesday. Student tickets close at 5 p.m. Wednesday. general admission tickets go on sale at Temple banks Friday and at the stadium from 6 30 p.m. Students pay 1 and general admission 2 at the gate.
The Cameron annual downtown Christmas parade is set for 3 p.m. Saturday December 4 with the theme A Ska viour is Born and entries depicting Christ life. Winners announced at 4 30 p.m. on courthouse lawn with trophies and plaques for top places.
