Civil War Widow Dies Rites Monday

Mrs. Willie Carleton 99 died 7 p.m. Monday in a local hospital. Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mark-Burns Funeral Home officiated by Rev. 30th Wimberly and Rev. Willian B. Waldrop. Burial in Corinth Cemetery. Born July 28, 1876 in Clark County Mississippi she lived 80 years in Ad Hall Community before moving to Cameron. Survived by sons Victor H. Milam County Voters Back Cotton Marketing Quota 422 to 25

Milam County growers joined nationwide approval for the cotton marketing quota in Tuesday's referendum. Milam voters cast 422 in favor and 25 against. Early unofficial results showed about 67 percent nationwide support needed for approval, with local peanut growers voting 32 for and 12 against.

Alvin Nolte 54 Dies After Heart Attack at Bank

Alvin C. Nolte senior vice president of Citizens National Bank died at noon Thursday after a heart attack at his Cameron office. Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Friday at March-Burns Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Freeman officiating. burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Nolte, born January 6, 191?, lived in Cameron 35 years. survived by wife Mrs. Wis M. Nolte and one sister Mrs. W. C. Keith.
