Sunrise program at First Baptist Church Thanksgiving service
Union Thanksgiving Services will be held at 7 a.m. Thursday November 25 at First Baptist Church under the Cameron Ministers Association. A arrangements committee includes Rev Wendall Carr and Dr W R Hall. Attendees are asked to bring food for underprivileged families. Choirs met to arrange music with Tom Cole. Many will leave for Austin for the Texas A&M game.

Major Gillis Body Returned for Burial in Cameron
The body of Major William M. Gillis killed in France on October 1 1944 aboard a memorial ship with about 7000 others to be buried in the homeland. Gillis led his battalion before Metz on the Moselle River and had taken part in the St Lo breakout with the Third Army under General Patton. He was a West Point graduate and Army football captain, married to Lenore Wiley. burial will follow his arrival in Cameron.

Civic Music drive yields 500 members in Milam County
Milam County closes a Civic Music drive with over 500 members led by Mrs. Clifford Swift secretary and general chairwoman. More than 250 names were added in the final push. Fort Worth Negroes Injured In Highway Mishap
Jesse Charles Whiting and David Whiting of Fort Worth were injured when their car ran off a culvert near Ben Arnold early Monday. The driver Jesse Whiting fell asleep at the wheel. David Whiting sustained a fractured arm and both suffered head injuries. Two other passengers were treated at St. Edwards Hospital.
