Mary Richter Likely to Recover from Cameron Auto Crash

Reports on Wednesday said Mary Richter, Cameron girl, will recover from head injuries, shock, and a slight concussion after a Sunday crash near the Southern Pacific Depot. The Mikula car, carrying Jerry Mikula, Frances Hughes, and Miss Richter, was struck by a second vehicle driven by an unidentified Black farm resident. the Mikula car veered into a ditch but no other occupants were seriously hurt. Miss Richter worked at Gohmert Variety Store, Miss Hughes at Southwestern Bell, and Mr Mikula for Grabein Chevrolet.

Lilac Woman Dies From Burns After Friday Incident

Mrs. S. L. Wilson, 38, died from burns Saturday in Temple hospital after her clothing ignited near a Lilac store. She was rushed to Temple with little hope of recovery. Funeral services were held at the family residence in Lilac on Sunday afternoon.

Chamber President Hays said no directors meeting will be held until December 7. The regular meeting for Tuesday night was canceled due to weather fears of lacking a quorum.

100000 Turkeys Marketed in Cameron City

A Cameron trade representative estimated that about 100000 turkeys have been marketed there since Thanksgiving. The figure reflects only part of birds raised this year. Christmas market opens next week as many birds are reserved for December sales. Turkeys sold brought around 18e each, totaling about $150000 for producers, mainly from Milam county farms.
