Klan Raid Wrecks Florida Night Club In Moore Park Incident

About 150 Ku Klux Klan members in white robes attacked the La Paloma Night Club in Miami, wrecking the interior and ransacking a nearby bungalow. A waiter was beaten, and owner Youst reported a gold watch and 350 dollars missing. Police require a formal complaint before investigating.

Camp To Be Made President Central Texas Firemen

Cameron Machine Shop Buys Southeast Block in Cameron

Cameron Machine Shop has purchased a quarter block of property south of the Wm. P. Carey Lumber Co. on the southeast corner of the block. The Michalka Bros. own the shop and have not announced plans, but expansion is expected. John Deere tractors and farm implements are sold there, and the shop builds truck bodies for bottling plants. The purchase signals progress for Cameron’s leading industry.

Dinner and Supper at Buckholts Church Event

The Buckholts Czech Moravian Church hosts a dinner and supper in the Machan building on Wednesday November 24. Plates are 25 cents with coffee. Dressed hens sell 50 cents each, large cakes 50 cents each, ko laces 25 cents per dozen. Dinner at 11 30 and supper at 5 o clock.

Charges Filed After Hearne Man Assault Near Cameron

Mrs. A R Channell of Hearne filed charges of assault with intent to murder against ten Thweatt of Maysfield in Justice Brasher’s court. The attack occurred shortly after noon near the First National Bank building on A R Channell, who lives in Hearne, who had driven the car carrying Mrs Harmon Thweatt and Mrs Channell to Cameron. Mrs Thweatt, administrator of Harmon Thweatt’s estate, and Mrs Channell are sisters. Thweatt and Channell traced their marriage to October in Oklahoma. Channell was beaten, his wounds dressed by Dr W R Newton Jr., and a warrant was issued with Sheriff Kennedy’s cooperation.

Cameron Council Funds First Annual Community Christmas Tree

The Cameron City Council approved a substantial donation at the start of the session to back Cameron’s first Community Christmas Tree. Alderman Sam McDermott led the motion with Roy Griffith seconding, backed by Mayor Chas. C. Smith and Aldermen EF. O. Schiller and Bob Terry. Emory B. Camp and J. B. White from the Chamber attended. A check for the subscription was handed to Chamber secretary Paden on Wednesday. Citizens praised the move for a 20 day lighted Christmas display.
