H O Cross to Speak on Congress Work in Waco

Congressman O H Cross of Waco will deliver an address on the work of the present congress in the district court room of the Court House here Saturday afternoon at 2 30 o clock. Cross was billed to speak last Saturday but the date was changed.

Firemen of Central Texas Organize in Chiv

A Central Texas Firemen's Association was perfected in Chiv on Tuesday night with over 100 delegates from Taylor Cameron Lampasas and more. Officers include T W Falkenburg president Frank Hammer first vice president Emory B Camp second vice president Joe Michli secretary treasurer and Rev Raman chaplain. A barbecue at Ada Henderson school accompanied the session with talks by Rev C C Acrey District Judge W G Gillis Frank Williams and Fred Clop. Jaws for the organization were adopted and Rosebud is slated as the next meeting site.

Union Thanksgiving Service Planned at First Methodist

Announcement says a union Thanksgiving service will be held Wednesday evening November 7 at the First Methodist Church. Pastor N. D. Timmerman of the First Baptist Church will preach and the public is invited to attend.

Yoemen Year Book On Sale Here Friday Morning

The first Yoemen Year Book, a 26 page illustrated edition, will be on sale here Friday morning. It features Yoemen, Band, Pep Squad, the Band of 1920, and Yoemen of 1920 with a special page for Mr and Mrs C H Yee, Coach Wood, and the Athletic Council. Copies cost 25 cents, with funds benefiting the Athletic Council. One thousand copies were printed.

Burlington Bonds Voted Saturday In Road District

Voters in road district No. 21 authorized issuing 16 000 in bonds in a special election to obtain government aid for road construction. The vote was 105 for and 14 against a 7 1/2 to 1 margin. The project costs 418 120 with 33 302 allotted by the federal government for improved lateral roads.

S A Cottle, president of the Cameron Athletic Council, announced Saturday that transportation had been provided in Cameron for 120 students to the Belton game. These extra tickets were purchased by various organizations and individual businessmen in Cameron for a trip by the band, pep squad and others.

Singing Convention Meeting Held in Milano

Milan County's Singing Convention held its quarterly meeting Sunday in Milano. Clarence Jackson, the president, attended. The next meeting will be at Minerva early in the new year. Lunch was served at noon.

Local option election urged in Milam County dry area

Petitions circulated Wednesday seek signers for a local option election in Milam County. The Commissioners Court may order a vote under a new statute, with Cameron and Milam County currently dry until an election authorizes liquor sales. Santa Claus opens toy department in Cameron on Friday November 22 at C N Green & Son store. Invitations go out for a Yoakum Belton bi district game in Cameron, urged by Perrin and supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club.

The 1986 Cameron Yoemen travel to play Rogers on Thursday afternoon in their second game of the season. This will be the final game of the Yoemen after completing their schedule.

Yoe men stumble in a hard fought Friday night game with Belton as a fourth quarter fumble at the two yard line sets the momentum. A late Yeomen drive advances to the 11 yard line but a miscue and ensuing punt miscue seal Cameron’s defeat.

Cases Set for Trial in District Court

District court calendar lists trials beginning November 22 with J.8 S. Jacobs for driving while intoxicated and November 26 for Robert Wilson and Dude Rice with assault with intent to murder and related charges. Other defendants include Buford Curlee and A. HL Treadwell for felony theft, Henry Artiesachky and Erskine Hill for driving while intoxicated, and further cases through December 20 including murder and theft by bailee.
