Georgetown Eagles won the 21-A District title at Snyder Field over the Taylor Ducks 19 to 0 in front of about 5 000 fans. Quarter scoring drove the win with James Orn passing to Bailey Marshall and Marshall scoring on a 70 yard drive. Taylor struggled to mount a connected aerial attack as Ducks star Dickey Moegle punted well and Ducks defense held late.

State Commander Bill Elkins of Killeen returns from Indianapolis to speak and join the Public Relations Panel. Burlington Store Robbed in Burlington Investigation Underway
A. F. E. Hensel's General Merchandise in Burlington was entered Wednesday night with about 1000 dollars in goods stolen. About 500 dollars in men’s clothing and 100 dollars in coffee were taken plus bacon tuna fish cigarettes cigars and three pistols. The entry came through a rear window while a trap door under the floor earlier Tuesday allowed movement of items including the safe. Sheriff Carl Black reported and investigators from G A Searight and W Seaman of the Safety Department Austin arrived to assist.

Waco Man Receives Suspended Sentence For Theft
B F Matthews of Waco was tried in district court on theft charges, received a five year penitentiary term suspended on good behavior. He was among three indicted by the May 1948 grand jury for theft from a wreck on the Santa Fe railroad between Buckholts and Rogers and returned to Cameron for trial after months away. Rogers and Brooker were convicted in August 1948 and served penitentiary terms.

Last Rites Held for Miss Whatley in Rogers
Funeral service held in Rogers Tuesday afternoon for Miss Mary Amelia Whatley who died in a Temple hospital Monday night from injuries after being struck by a car in Rogers October 29. Survivors include two brothers W. T. Whatley of Cameron and J. C. Whatley of Rogers and several nieces and nephews.

21 Cars Jump Track On Thorndale Bridge
Twenty one cars of a 75 car Missouri Pacific freight derailed on a bridge two miles east of Thorndale Texas early today, crashing into a 20 foot ditch. No injuries reported. Four hundred feet of track damaged. Power lines and trees knocked down. Most cars were empty.
