Two men Ber nice Williams and Freeman Weddle pleaded guilty in county court to illegal conversion of merchandise and possession of stolen goods. Each was fined 100 dollars and sentenced to 30 days in jail. Eight Injured in Funeral Car Crash Near Hearne
Eight persons were injured Wednesday afternoon five miles south of Hearne on Highway 6 when a car carrying six people to bury an infant collided with another vehicle. The infant’s body was in the car. Joe B. Wilson, father of the infant, and five passengers sustained severe cuts and bruises and proceeded to Gause after Hearne clinic treatment. Other occupants were B. D. Wilson, H. R. McCool, N. D. Anderson, Florence Anderson of Houston, and Alma Moore and Richard Moore of College Station. Miss Alma Moore suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Bryan Hospital with Richard Moore for treatment.
