Six Cameron youths enlisted Monday in a Texas Task Force to support the war effort. They are Robert Lee Salach, Lawrence C. Schiller, Edwin A. Stecher, Thomas Edward Brashear, Coy Dees, and Willie Smith. They depart Cameron for naval service under the Citizens Committee chaired by L. Van Perkins.

Reznor Baby Girl Born at Newton Memorial

Mr and Mrs Joe Reznor of Buckholt welcomed a baby girl at Newton Memorial Hospital Tuesday. The infant weighed eight and a half pounds and arrived at 2 20 p m. Both parents report they are doing nicely.

Man Dies After Train Strikes Cameron Resident

John Watson 50 of Cameron died at Newton Memorial Hospital from injuries after being struck by a Santa Fe freight train on the western Cameron tracks while driving cows home. He had both legs severed and succumbed at 3 a m. He was a World War I veteran. funeral set for Friday at 2 30 p m with American Legion honor guard. Brashear Advances at Lubbock Army Flying School

Ray Hubert Brashear, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Brashear of Cameron, reports to the Lubbock Army Flying School for the final lap of training. Under Col. Thomas L. Gilbert, the cadet will complete work begun in Sikeston and Randolph Field and, upon graduation, be commissioned as a second lieutenant and assigned to active Air Force duty.
